PM Gets 200% Increase In Vehicle Allowance

Today a screenshot of government's Smartstream accounting program shows that the Prime Minister has gotten a 200% increase in his vehicle allowance.

The Smart stream page shows that effective January 11th, the PM's vehicle allowance increases from 1,300 to four thousand dollars monthly, or 48,000 dollars annually.

What's behind it? According to the Cabinet Secretary, Stuart Leslie who authorized the increase, the PM has never been assigned a government vehicle - he uses his own vehicle and "he has to travel all over the country and has to pay all his vehicle maintainable, from tires to tune ups."

Leslie says this is the only vehicle allowance which the PM receives.
