And while the commissioner underscored that a civilian staff is different form a disciplined officer, last night on the news we heard that same form his Minister, and we challenged him on that, saying that a fundamental breakdown in procedure is indicative of a level of rot somewhere within the command structure.

As you might expect, the Commissioner takes issue with that.

And while he concedes that he's a leader who is only human, today he compared himself to both the father and the son, all that's left is the holy spirit:

Reporter
"So you expressed to me that you were upset by the allegation last night that this incident points to low morale in the police department and that you should go. How would you like to respond?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner Of Police
"Well, I think Jules Vasquez wants to be commissioner of police. Maybe I should go and be the director of Channel 7 and he be the commissioner of policeand then we see how he goes. But again sometimes you see the movie Bruce Almighty, when the man played God for a day and he did what he had to do? Maybe if you'd say Commissioner with Jules, he might be able to just draw everything and everything falls in place. But to equate what happened to whether or not the commissioner is effective. I think he had gone too far."

"We are going to do all we can to make sure that whoever is responsible is held to account. It is a must, and that is what has been the hallmark of my administration. I have a minister who works hand-in-hand with me and we make sure that if there is any misconduct on the part of police officers, that they're held to account. And we're seeing more and more of that. Yes, I don't expect to be loved by every member of the department. When you are a stern leader and you don't take nonesense from people you are going to be those who dislike you for christ sake God gave his only begotten Son to the world because he loves us so much and what was done to him. He was crucified. So what makes me think I'm going to be different? "

Reporter
"Sir, are you comparing yourself to Christ?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner Of Police
"No, it's not. comparing myself to Christ. I'm just saying. Making an analogy to you. If Christ was crucified, what makes me think that I would not be crucified? "
