And so while the PM s still clearly suggesting that Juratowich got it wrong with that legal opinion - did his government get it wrong when it cancelled Brad's Boledo License in April without having a system to replace it?
It's been 3 months since Boledo was last drawn - and while fans may miss the game - the hard fact is government is losing out on big revenue form he game - revenue in the millions of dollars.
Three months and counting later, PM says the new government operated boledo is in the testing phase:
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"The delay has been simply because we want to do it right. We tried to work very closely with the previous company, and for more than a year, calling them out, pointing out the deficiencies, areas where they weren't meeting the conditions of the license and so when we finally made the decision to cancel, we could not have had anything in place because had we had done that then the attorney would say, it was your intentions from day 1 to cancel the Boledo. So we didn't do anything, we just waiting, trying to work with them, and then after that, well, it has been a lengthy process because we're trying to do it right, we want to ensure that whatever is don't hat the Belizean taxpayers, and in this case, we hope that most of that money will be able to go to the National Health Insurance. I'm told that the bids are in and they opened the bids this week, I've not gotten a briefing from CEO Garcia but I'm supposed to get that hopefully next week, but I see within the next week or two that the announcements are going to be made and I know we've ordered equipment, we've ordered the machines that will be used, the program is ready, and they've been testing it to ensure that it can work well and cannot be hacked so easily so we're doing it right, and that's what's important."
