Last week we reported that the high court has pulled the permits for three of Floralia's southern runs, to Dangriga, Punta Gorda and Independence, on the grounds that the Transport Board totally botched the issuance of those permits.

The Board now has until December 10th to properly re issue those permits. It's a real mess caused by the Department of Transport and the Board of Transport and we asked the minister of Transport today who's to blame. Here's what he said:

Reporter
"I wanted to ask about Floralia. The judge found that the transport board and the commissioner made grave errors and issued at least one Floralia permit without taking it to the board. And now the Floralia permits for those runs are cancelled. How did you feel about that decision?"

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth and Sports
"I don't feel any way. Right now the attorney general is in full control, so I will limit what I say about that judgment until he competes, processes and I can go to the media and call a press conference or whatever you may want and explain to the Belizean people exactly what occurred."

Reporter
"Come December 10th, when the new permits are to be issued, what will happen? Will Floralia get their runs back?"

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth and Sports
"I cannot say it because it's in the hands of the attorney general."

Reporter
"And the judge also found the chairman of the board and the commissioner of transport that in presenting their evidence in this matter, the defendants either made clear mistakes or attempted to mislead the court. Will the chairman also be removed?"

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth and Sports
"I said, I will respond to you after the AG is finished with all his findings."
