And while the UDP is desperate for voter validation after being devastated in the general elections of 2020, and the municipals of 2021, their leader claims, they aren't the only ones who are urgent:

Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition

"We are getting a sense of voter urgency to vote out the PUP. Like people are very frustrated and people have been suffering and punishing for the last three years. Like, serious. I know that there is election time banter and political jargon always thrown around and it sounds cliche, but you guys know, you report it."

"I watch the "Beef" faithfully every Monday when it comes on. Very disappointed when you're not on Monday. Eventhough, I am sometimes, most times, one of your targets, but one of the good things about the media houses is they have really, truly been a crucial part of holding the government accountable and telling the truth, right?"

"So it's not things that we make up. It's things that you guys report. You know what is happening out there. Even with the gas prices, it's okay to abuse BTB. Anthony Mahler is the Minister of Tourism, not the Minister of BTB."

"The member from Albert could speak on how that works. That's a statutory body. He's not supposed to be telling them how to spend their money. They're supposed to be spending the money how they feel fit."

"He has abused that to try to get the councillor slates elected, but all throughout these three years, they have done nothing to alleviate the pain of the Belizean people with these high gas prices, with these highest costs of living ever."

"And just in the last week up to tonight, we have had three or four increases in gas prices."
