Andre Perez returned to Cabinet yesterday after an 8 month leave of absence. Perez had allegedly sent inappropriate texts to attorney, Wendy Auxilou, who claims she has had to flee the country because she fears persecution on her return. However, even though she accused him of a sexual assault, she did not make a police report. And today, the Minister of Human Development - said that maybe Perez would have been better investigated if she did.
Dolores Balderamos Garcia, Minister of Human Development
"I am not sure if it was a full fledged investigation, and I had told myself I wouldn't speak much on this because it was the prime minister's decision, but I will say at least this, a full fledged investigation may have taken place had there been a formal police report or complaint. No such thing has ever happened. And I only take the opportunity further to say that I actually sit next to Minister Perez in Cabinet and he's a hardworking colleague and that is really as much as I will say right now."

We note that the attorney general was tasked to make an investigation but Auxilou says no one from the government ever reached out to her to follow up on this.
