There's been almost three weeks of public agitation over government's decision to pay 6.9 million dollars for land to build a hospital in Belmopan. The unions are calling for GOB to reverse the transaction and get the money back, but the PM today confirmed that it's not going to happen. He said any attempt at a reversal would only end up in a costly legal dispute. He told the press this in a quick hit and run interview at the Coast Guard headquarters:

John Briceno, Prime Minister

"I think honestly guys if we were to go that, it would still cost us millions of dollars because a sale has been consumed. There's a contract. Any lawyer that's worth its salt will tell you there's a contract, unless the seller would come back and say you know what, I want back my money, even if they're to ask, so I think we've answered all the questions, the technical people have come onboard and said why they prefer that position so I don't have anymore to comment on that."

Reporter:
"For transparency and accountability, will you disclose the Ministry of Health technical report on the feasibility of moving the location?"

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I already spoke about that issue, thank you very much."
