Tonight the Belize Territorial Volunteers are demanding what they call "decisive and immediate action in response to a recent violation of Belizean sovereignty."
It stems from an incident on Saturday on the Belize side of the Sarstoon where the Guatemalan military rammed into their vessel.
Here's the story:
Just a few minutes ago Foreign Minister Francis Fonseca responded to our request for a comment saying, quote,With all of these incidents we follow a well established process of reporting the particular incident to the OAS for them to carry out a verification exercise. The MFA also sends a formal diplomatic protest note to the Government of Guatemala condemning the actions of the GAF and reaffirming Belize's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
