Tonight, reports say both the PSU and the APSSM have voted yes on the government's most recent proposal for the wage increase. This time around, they're offering 4.5% in the first instance - which will be implemented in October - and another 4% within two years. Two increments will also be unfrozen in that time frame as well.

75% of the PSU agreed with that proposal; however, the BNTU still has yet to reveal the results of its poll. Like their sister unions, they need over 50% of the membership to make a decision. But at this moment, they're still polling their members. We are told the results are coming in slow since many of the members are out of school for summer vacation. Many of them also live in remote areas without internet access.

If they vote yes, though, it will bring an end to almost 2 months of negotiations and demonstrations. For now, the government - and the public - are waiting to see what the results will be.
