And as you may recall, the management for the Belcan Bridge project was taken from the Belize City Council and given back to MIDH. When we asked the mayor how he feels to have lost control of a history project valued in the tens of millions of dollars, he said they're team players:

"So you have publicized and released the plans for Belcan Bridge, it is being executed by MIDH. Do you feel that the city was done a low with the project by having it being taken away?"
Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City
"No, no no no no, not at all, we are a team player and we believe that we are an agency of national government and if we were asked to participate in a project within our city we are a willing partner and we are a willing partner now that MIDH is leading that project and we wish the quick replacement of those two bridges which will enhance the city and that is our number one goal. We want to see enhancement, we want to see improvement in the city."
