And speaking of the misuse of AI, several online images have also become an issue.
When it came to The Buzz Lounge Shooting, an AI image was created by an online media blog stating that it was the 16-year-old accused shooter - when it was not.
Well today the CEO at the Ministry of E-Governance Jose Urbina discussed proposed legislation to address these types of posts:

Jose Urbina, CEO, Ministry E-Governance
"I think that as a government of Belize, we need to ensure that we have a proper AI use policy, we have started working on that police through the drafting of a AI strategy. In the AI strategy we also highlight the ethical use of AI and also to inform the general public that while AI is a powerful took we can't use it for mischief and we need to ensure that we are also both ethically and responsible in the US of AI. Ofcourse when we look at the different discussions we've had within the public sector or public service is that we do realize that AI is a national security concern because at the end of the day we're sharing data with international entities that we don't know what they do with that data and so for us it is important for us to advise the general public and also to advise those as you referred to them "fake media outlets" to also ensure that they're responsible and ethical about the use of Ai. I must highlight also that the cybersecurity, cybercrime act is also a legislation that can be enforced if further investigation is needed for these fake profiles to be brought to justice."
