And we also asked her what she thought about the dismissive comments made by those in the government about the members of the LIU program.

Courtney Menzies:
"Their comments seem a bit flippant. Do you feel like they have, in a way, discarded these people, just say no hope for them?"

"I think in some ways that's what it feels like and people could only go by what they're experiencing. That's what it feels like. If there was a time taken to inform people formally, if there wasn't time taken to try to create a transition off of the program, which you are going to what we call sunsets in social protection systems, if you didn't take time to do that, then people are going to feel like they're disposable. And so if you talk to any client and that is their sentiment for me, that is a totally logical conclusion to be made. Right? You can't not inform people and expect them to feel, oh, well, you know, that's I think that's an unfair expectation as well."
