Sports Minister Has Ideas for Basketball League

And while the minister does encourage keeping basketball active he gave us his opinion on the Belize Premier Basketball League games which are expected to begin tonight. As minister of sports, he says he has his own plans and will try to meet with the federation soon.

Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism

"It's better than nothing. We plan to sit down with the basketball federation and we plan to bring back the original semi pro basketball league early next year."

"They are doing it in the summer months and usually that tournament starts in January so we will see how it goes from there. But it is better to have our athletes playing rather than just sitting down at home doing nothing and just playing scrimmage ball at the parks."
