And while that is the flood assessment for the north, NEMO has to keep an eye on the whole picture, the panorama of possibilities.
That is why we were somewhat surprised to learn today that it had not convened yet:
Daniel Mendez, NEMO -Nat'l Coordinator
"All district committees have met today across the country. These include even on San Pedro and Caye Caulker. As of tomorrow morning, as of 9 a.m., NEMO itself will be, will be activated."
"We want to provide people with as much information as possible and timely information. And so we will be ensuring that this is done within enough and adequate time."
Jules Vasquez
"But you know, people don't want information. They want to be told what to do."
Daniel Mendez, NEMO -Nat'l Coordinator
"Yes, yes. Well, of course, we want to be very careful with what we're giving and the information we are sharing, we don't want to overly alarm, but at the same time, we don't want to not give you enough information."
You can find a link to the entire press conference on our Facebook and YouTube pages.
Going forward, there will be daily virtual briefings at 7:30 am - which you can see on your morning show of choice. Catch it tomorrow here at 7:30 on Sunup on 7.
