What's up with the BTL sale to Jeffrey Prosser? That's what we've been trying to find out all day - but it seems that few know - and those that do aren't telling.
What we do know is this: yesterday February 9, completed 60 days since the deal was announced on December 11th of last year. According to Michael Ashcroft's Carlisle Website, at the end of that 60 days, his company should have gotten the last $5 million (U.S. Dollars) to complete the $114 million dollar sale. But since the deal, by all outward appearances has still not been closed - standard procedure would have it that Ashcroft should be expected to earn a penalty in us dollars on every day beyond the 60 day due diligence period that was given.
Last week, Tuesday, February 3rd, Jeffrey Prosser's Vice-president of Public Relations, Rene Henry sent us an e-mail saying, "we do not expect due diligence to be completed in the next 7 days.... we will continue discussions and due diligence beyond the 60 days." Of course since then there's been plenty of loose talk about the deal - and some new local players who have expressed an interest. Still, with all this government has maintained silence on all matters relating to the deal and its corollary, that elusive interconnection.
