The new firearms and ammunition law revisions are in effect and proof of that came when a man received a serious fine for a few bullets. 18-year-old Marvin Reyes appeared before Magistrate Margaret Gabb-Mckenzie for the charge of keeping ammunition without a license. He pleaded guilty to the offense and became the first Person to be convicted under the new firearms act. He was fined $10,000 to be paid in installments of $300 a month in default 1 year in prison.
On the night of February 9, police officers conducted a search at a residence on Mayflower Street where Reyes was found. Along with Reyes police found 10 live nine-millimeter rounds.
