After a slight dip early in the year, overnight tourism arrivals have rebounded and have registered an increase for the second quarter in a row. In the first half of this year 93,000 visitors landed at the Phillip Goldson International, compared with 87,000 in the same period, last year. The folks at the tourism board say this 6.5% increase is good news for the usually lean summer months. Of course, it's never lean in the cruise tourism industry where the first half of the year showed a whopping 71% increase in arrivals.
