A 23-year-old young man from Corozal Town is out on bail tonight after he was charged in court for having illicit sexual relations with an underaged girl.

Police arrested Patrick Smith after he was caught in a compromising position with a 14-year-old girl by the girl's mother. The mother's story to police is that at 10:30 on Sunday morning she found smith in a parked pickup with her daughter. Smith was today arraigned before a Magistrate on a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge. He was released on $3,000 bail and the case was adjourned until September 24th.
