Butane prices shot up today, increasing by $6 to $80 dollars in Belize City. Government today issued a release announcing an increase to $78 dollars however at retailers we checked it is at $80 dollars per 100 pound cylinder. In Belmopan the suggested price is $80, while in San Ignacio it is $81 dollars and in Benque it’s $82. Elsewhere in the country Corozal and Dangriga boasts the nationwide low with just $76 as the suggested price for a 100 pound cylinder. Both Orange walk and Punta Gorda carry suggested prices of $77.
With the exception of Belize City, all the other prices we listed are suggested price and the new price in your area could be higher. No reason was given for this latest increase but rising world fuel prices is the likely culprit.
