The Caribbean Research and Development Institute has been operating in Belize since 1976, and it has conducted research in agriculture that has been used throughout the region. Now CARDI is getting new headquarters as it was moved from Belmopan to Central Farm where Minister of Agriculture Hon. Servulo Baeza today declared the new offices opened. He says that the new station will offer greater cooperation with other agriculture-related organizations.

Hon. Servulo Baeza, Minister of Agriculture
“This move by CARDI from Belmopan to Central Farm is therefore timely and appropriate as it will allow greater collaboration with other agencies located at Central Farm. The Minister of Agriculture, BAHA, the Taiwanese Mission, Pesticides Control Board, UB, Galen University all of these can now work together. Additionally CARDI will have access to much more land space to carry out its mandate in Belize.”

CARDI presently has a Belizean regional director in Dr. Wendell Parham.
