Last night we reported that the four non-government members of the Social Security Board were to travel to Belmopan to the SSB's headquarters in an effort to begin their investigation into the alleged irregularities in loans provided to Glenn Godfrey's Intelco and others. But while the Secretary General of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize George Frazer told us that they were ready to do so, today it was announced that an emergency meeting with all 9 board members has been called. While the subject of the meeting is not disclosed it is more than likely that the topic will be the much talked about irregularities in the SSB's investment portfolio. And for the time being, it is not known how the meeting will impact on their original plan.
