Cabinet also agreed that the Development Finance Corporation should open the various bus terminals countrywide to accommodate commuters. These terminals formed part of the receivership and were closed down after the receivership collapsed on December 21st. Details of how and which of the terminals will operate are not yet know. We do know however that only the concourse areas of the terminals will be used to basically shelter people from the elements and to allow for people to board the buses from inside these terminals.
We don't know how this Cabinet decision squared with a report yesterday in the Amandala which says that the DFC will auction off six Novelo terminals on February 15, while the Atlantic Bank is inviting bids for another portion of the Novelo's property.
