Seems like just two weeks ago, the City Council was threatening to disrupt cruise busses leaving from the Fort Street Tourism Village. But time heals all wounds, and money helps too - and this weekend, City Hall and the Fort Street Tourism Village are working hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, and pen to checkbook to pave Fort Street.
As of 6:00 pm tonight, to 6:00 pm on Sunday, the area of Fort Street immediately in front of the village will be closed for resurfacing. But this isn't head tax money, nope it's $10,435 cold cash from the village to "assist with the effort." And if you want your street paved just like that, a release from City Hall says, "the council invites other businesses to assist in beautifying the city."
