These precious Mayan artifacts from Belize were found in the possession of two Guatemalan nationals this morning. The men are brothers 24-year-old Erick and 37 year old Esguin Archila. They were busted at a checkpoint between miles 71 and 72 on the Western Highway. The artifacts were turned over to the Archaeology Department and police say they are valued at about $60,000. Both brothers have been jointly charged for failure to obtain a license to possess antiquities.
