50 Scotia Bank customers walked home today with prizes such as a 37-inch television, Ipods, weekend getaways, and one customer could've rode home on a bicycle. The prizes were handed out this morning at the end of Scotia Bank's credit card campaign where all a customer had to do was use their credit card. KREM's J.C. Arzu used his credit card and it paid off big time. He won a new television. He was at Scotia Bank's main branch on Albert Street this morning.
Keith Swift,
How does it feel to have won this TV?
J.C. Arzu, Won TV
"Pretty good man, first big screen TV."
Keith Swift,
You won this by using your credit card? How did it work?
J.C. Arzu,
"Well I pretty much live on credit and I didn't think I would win because I wasn't even paying attention to a raffle going on and so its pretty good news. I thought I won a fat cash prize."
Keith Swift,
How did you find out you won?
J.C. Arzu,
"I got a telephone notification yesterday around noon."
Keith Swift,
You already know where you're going to put the TV?
J.C. Arzu,
"Yeah actually it will replace the 13 inch I have."
Cecil Arnold, Scotia Bank
"Since we launched our credit card company, we have continued to give incentives to our customers in terms of using a credit card. We feel its an important part of ban king and therefore launched this wonderful campaign where every customer who spends a dollar had a chance to win 25 prizes per month, one of those 25 prizes and so we ran it for two months and today we are giving away the 50 prizes ranging from cash to a wonderful overnight stay at Blancanceaux Lodge for three nights and it has been a wonderful campaign. Anyone who spent their money, from a hundred dollars up had a chance to win. It is about saying if you bank with Scotia Bank, we make it exciting so there is so much incentive to do business with us."
Winners in the education savings plan campaign were also awarded prizes. In the promotion, parents who saved money for the children were awarded towards the account starting at $5,000 for first place. But while those promotions are over, there is still $70,000 left to win. A deposit will earn customers a ticket into the promotion in which first prize alone is $30,000.
