It's one of the great mysteries of modern Belize. Where does all our oil money go? We've already reported that the government only gets back about 20% of the gross in taxes, royalty and production share. Tonight, the UBAD Education Foundation plans to take on the oil issue in all its breadth and detail. And they've gotten a star studded cast to lead the show. Oil company antagonist Jim Kavanaugh will be there, as will Belize Natural Energy CEO Gilbert Canton, and Director of Petroleum for government Andre Cho. Host Ya Ya Marin Coleman told us why it's important to be there.

"It is important because like brother Senator Hulse said, if we don't know what we have, and the value of what we have, then we don't see a need to fight for it. We don't see a need to find out about it and anyone can come in, because it seems that everyone else knows the value of oil, they are coming for it and they are getting the benefits of it and we as Belizeans, to my knowledge, we are not getting anything. So that is why I said it is important for our listeners to come out this evening, 7:30 until 10 at the Bishop Sylvestre Memorial Center."
As she said, the forum starts just about now at the Bishop Sylvester Memorial Center.
