She is a Dangriga Police Officer and tonight she is seventy five thousand dollars richer. Vivian Castillo is the winner of Wednesday night's lotto jackpot. Today she traveled from Dangriga to Tropical Gaming's office in the city to pick up her cheque of seventy five thousand dollars. It was an unexpected win, but nonetheless she said it couldn't have come at a better time. She told us why.
Vivian Castillo
"It was just a quick pick."
Monica Bodden
"How you found out that you actually won?"
Vivian Castillo
"Yesterday morning when I got up I put on the television and Mrs. Ava Diaz Sosa was repeating the numbers. I stood up and I listen to her and I said that to myself that that sound like my numbers, so I took out the numbers out of my pocket and I look at the numbers and I said 'these are my numbers' so I told my husband that I think I got it. So when I went to work I verify t and yes I won. My mom's house just started and it doesn't even have a roof as yet, so i will help her with that."
Monica Bodden
"What else you plan to do with this win?"
Vivian Castillo
"Home renovation and then I'll put up the rest and my husband and I will decide on it later on."
Monica Bodden
"Are you a regular Lotto buyer?"
Vivian Castillo
"Off and on."
Monica Bodden
"Are you going to still continue playing?"
Vivian Castillo "Sure."
After taxes were deducted, Castillo walked away with sixty three thousand, seven hundred and fifty dollars.
