The price of LPG, or what is commonly called butane is going up again. There are two different price ranges. LPG from Mexico which has 40% butane is more expensive will sell for 128 dollars in the city. LPG from Cenrtral America which has only 10% butane will sell for 126 dollars in the city.
Prices last went up less than a month ago.
Interestingly, under standards set forth in 2012, the 90:10 mix with 90% propane that is sold by the Central American companies is considered Special Duty propane because it is so volatile and highly pressurized. A 90 10 mix is listed as Special Duty propane which is set aside for industrial uses.
The maximum propane content in Commercial mixtures is 70% propane. Long story short, a 90 - 10 mix is not legally approved for commercial sales.
