But what does Floralia's co-owner Marvin Vanzie, think of Andy Shaw's antics?
Here's what he told Cherisse Halsall this afternoon when she spoke to him via Zoom:
Marvin Vanzie, Owner/ Co-Founder
"On countless times I have met Mr Andy Shaw and he is a great guy you know respectable because he has been in the industry for a very long time and now, last night's incident I think was sad to see because it's kind of like setting an example of somewhat lawlessness and confrontational behavior and that is definitely not the way we operate, so you know our staff is trained and encouraged to be very professional so in situations like that we leave it to the authorities we will talk with the people that are responsible to just let them know our point of view and I know that emotions were flying high on the first day and all that stuff so I think that it shouldn't have been done, I think that people. He's not really stealing people from us because people don't belong to any bus or any operator or any run, right? People have their choices so what in essence the president of the association is doing is that he is robbing Belizeans of their option to have chosen a different bus line if they wanted to and because people just come so if you see that bus there and you have a person that is basically telling you, get on you don't really know what is going on especially with the design of the terminal right now, it's not working, the back. You are just following orders so that gets headed onto that night last night."
"I really hope that level heads prevail tonight and we want to encourage Belizeans to realize they have an option, like you know you don't have to ride with us but if you do want to at 8:00 o'clock tonight you can."
