Last week we spoke to BEL's Chairman Andrew Marshalleck about the utility's performance in 2022.

One thing we did see in the company's annual report to shareholders is that three years after COVID forced many to work from home - the company is still doing it for at least half of its office workers.

They're working hybrid - most days working from home, others from the office.

He says it's created greater efficiency:

Andrew Marshalleck, Chairman, Belize Electricity Ltd.

"The conditions under which we allow work from home requires a constant monitoring of work products and so much so that that kind of monitoring doesn't take place when you're in the office. So while you are free to come in the office, sit down and do nothing and nobody will catch up on you, you can't stay home and do that, because everybody is watching. So in terms of monitoring and production it has in fact produced better results."
