Tonight, ASR-BSI is vindicated after agronomist Hugh O' Brien found that shipping and handling charges passed on by the sugar mill are justified.

These costs were bitterly disputed by the BSCFA. So when they signed their two year commercial agreement with BSI in January, one of the stipulations was that O'Brien had to investigate and determine whether terminal handling charges and throughput fees are justified as port charges.

Today BSI issued a release stating that O'Brien concluded his analysis and his report on May 2nd which found, quote, "terminal handling charges and throughput fees are justified port charges." He also found that the industry is saving significant costs from the transition to the Port of Big Creek through more efficient loading.
