After the acrimonious departure of its short lived CEO Leroy Almendarez, the Social Security Board has named his replacement - and it's also his former Deputy, Jerome Palma.
Almendarez was sent packing at the end of January and after a round of advertising and interviews, the Social Security Board made the obvious choice, they selected the second in command who has been Acting CEO since February 2025.
Palma - we should note is uniquely equipped for the job; he holds a Master of Science in Actuarial Science - which is an area of study specific to insurance schemes such as Social Security.
