A Cabinet press release says, quote, Cabinet considered the pricing of regulated plantation white sugar and brown sugar for industrial products, including consideration of the freight distance in the establishment of prices, and approved the establishment of regulated prices and the removal of price control for retail labelled packaged sugar."

We spoke to industry insiders who couldn't quite figure out what it means but we should expect to see an increase in prices. We'll be seeing clarification on the announcement made this evening.
