After weeks, maybe months of silence the Public Utilities Commission has finally spoken up tonight on what it calls, "market conditions in the telecommunications sector" - and the news tonight is that it is moving to a public consultation on, quote, "Assessment of Dominance in Telecommunications Markets."

A release issued just five minutes before news time says the utilities regulator has, quote, "prepared an Initial Determination outlining the preliminary findings on whether any licensee may hold a position of market dominance..."

The document is available online and the PUC is now inviting written comments from all interested parties including licensees, consumers, consumer representatives, and the general public. There is a more month period and comments should be submitted to info@puc.bz by 4:00 p.m. on March 2, 2026. We'll have more on this tomorrow.
