
Ranchito village resident Sandra Pineda has been arrested and charged after being found with crack cocaine and cannabis in her home. When police carried out the search Pineda dashed through her home:

"Corozal police have formally arrested and charged Sandra Araceli Pineda. A 38 year old naturalized Belizean of Ranchito village for the offense of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply, to wit, 5.8g of crack cocaine and possession of controlled drugs, to wit 17.8g of cannabis. The arrest of Pineda follows police's execution of a search warrant at her residence on Friday, 28th January 2026, at around 10:00 am."
"The arresting officer reported that upon entering the premises while simultaneously advising the occupants that it was the police and that they were there to execute a search warrant, she observed, Pineda picked up a transparent plastic bag and ran through the house. Pineda was pursued and she was observed throwing the plastic bag, and when it was opened and inspected, it was found to contain several pieces of suspected crack cocaine."
Nobody else in the home was charged because she claimed the drugs.
