It's taken police nearly a week to charge Dwight Neal for knocking down and killing 7-year-old Zoe Nezbitt on the southern highway last Friday and night.
Today they charged the 46 year old with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, driving with a valid driver's license, and driving without insurance.
The 7-year-old girl was knocked down near her home in Independence Village as she attempted to cross the southern highway.
