Convicted prisoner Dorian Wellcome who was serving an 8 year prison sentence behind the Hattieville prison will get to spend the long Easter weekend as a free man.
Why? Well he wasn't pardoned or paroled but the convicted criminal is out on the streets because of a slip-up.
On Tuesday 22 year old Wellcome was brought down from Hattieville to Belize City to be charged in court with drug trafficking for selling marijuana in prison. He pleaded guilty to the charge and he was to be sentenced on June 2nd.
Not knowing that he was already a convict, already serving an 8-year sentence, Magistrate Dorothy Flowers released Wellcome on bail until his sentencing. Dorian Wellcome is now out on the streets and police have issued a warrant for his arrest. In all fairness to him though, he wasn't told to return to court until June 2nd.
