An argument over a cellphone almost cost Chon Saan security guard Michael Gladden his life this weekend.

At 9:30 on Friday night Gladden was on duty at the Chon Saan on Euphrates Avenue when he said he questioned someone about a cellphone of his which they had.

From the private ward at the KHMH, Gladden, who asked us not to show his face, says there was no way he thought he would have been shot for his own cellphone.

Michael Gladden, Shot for his Cellphone
"Over my own cellphone I got shot and my money."

You think it was worth it?

Michael Gladden,
"No it wasn't worth it at all."

"He went inside (of the Chon Saan Restaurant) with a cell to buy a phone card and I asked him about my phone. He said he didn't know what I was talking about. Then I looked in the vehicle and I saw him calling his buddy on the cellphone. After that he came with the gun"

He got mad because you asked him about the cell phone?

Michael Gladden,
"Yes that's right. He thought I was harassing him."

The bullet remains in Gladden's side and police continue to investigate.
