There was an accident this afternoon at the intersection of South Street and West Canal. At around 4:30 this afternoon a Mitsubishi L-200 pickup truck proceeding south on the canal collided onto a Nissan Frontier as it attempted to cross the South Street bridge.
We were on the scene and spoke to Attorney Michael Young, the husband of the driver of the Nissan.
Michael Young,
"She was coming up on South Street and she actually blew her horn but the vehicle just came through. If you notice there is a stop sign there. The impact on the left hand side of her vehicle forced the vehicle onto the rail as you can see it now."
Alfonso Noble,
"Any damages to the vehicle?"
Michael Young,
"Well there is obviously substantial damages on the left hand side of the vehicle. As to what are the details, we have to get an assessment later on. But right now I need to take her to the hospital."
Alfonso Noble,
"She is injured?"
Michael Young,
"She hit her head and so I need to have her go to the hospital."
Young's wife was the only persons involved to receive any injuries. There were two customs officers in the L-200.
