Again this weekend blood was shed and another life was lost. The violence this time was up north where a 16-year-old is facing murder charges after a dispute inside a Corozal Town nightspot spilled onto the street with deadly consequences.
At 11:30 on Saturday night police found the body of 22-year-old Miguel Angel Lin lying facing down on the northern highway with stab wounds to his abdomen and injuries to his head and face. Lin was pronounced dead at the Corozal Town hospital. Police investigations led them to a club where earlier on Saturday Lin was in an argument with three other men. Witnesses say Lin left the bar and that's when he was ambushed and murdered.
Today 16-year-old Jose Omar Machado was charged with murder. He was joined at his arraignment by 18 year old Antonio Anderson and 22 year old Marconi Tzul who were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
While they are accused with killing him, police say he may have been run over by a car after being stabbed to death, which left the body with massive head injury.
