A hunting trip last night ended in an injury and now Orange Walk police have a 17-year-old minor detained as their investigations continue into the apparent accidental shooting. So far police know hat the minor borrowed his cousin's 16 gauge shotgun and he went hunting along with 22-year-old Roberto Requena in the Pine Ridge Area of the Orange Walk District. Somehow Requena was shot accidentally receiving four pellet wounds to his leg and thigh area in addition to his shoulder. Requena was treated for the injuries at the KHMH. He has since been released and police say they doubt the minor will be charged since the shooting does appear to have been an accident.
