It looked like a snake bite that killed 42 year old cane cutter Jose Luis Gonzalez, but police pathologist Dr. Mario Estradabran says it's murder.

That was the finding of a post mortem today which determined that Gonzalez died from bleeding in the lungs which was the result of a blow from a blunt instrument to the chest. Again, today police confirmed that the body showed no outward signs of violence and noted only snaked bites to his back and arm. Still, Estradabran found sufficient evidence of a violent end and Orange Walk police are now dealing with a murder investigation for which they say they have no motive.

Gonzalez was found dead on Monday night in a cane field in Trinidad village. He had left home at 5:00 am to go cut cane there.
