Another accused killer has gone free as the DPP's office again failed to put a man behind bars for murder.

24 year old Egbert Myers appeared before Justice John Gonzalez where he was found not guilty. In a familiar trend, the key witness in the trial Tyrone Joseph failed to remember facts he had given the police in a statement after the killing of gas station attendant Robert Lino. After that, Justice Gonzalez instructed the jury to render a not guilty verdict because there was insufficient evidence against the accused.

Now, Myers joins two other men who were earlier set free for the same crime. On December 16th of last year two other men Herman 'Yagga' Morris and Patrick Kerr were set free of the charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit robbery when the DPP's office withdrew the charges against them. On the night of June 30 of 2003 gas station attendant Robert Lino was killed as the security guard shot at a robber and he responded by shooting Lino. Lino died on the spot, but the guard recovered.
