On Saturday August 21st Richard Price reported to police that his mother, Esther Price's home had been burglarized. The thieves made off with two laptop computers a Smith and Wesson gun, plus $500 and 1,500 quetzals in cash and other items amounting to total value of $6,200.

Quite a heist and it turns out that Price's maid may have been in on it. Since the report, police have detained four men and a woman in connection with the incident. In Magistrate's Court; 16-year-old Manuel Williams, Nicaraguan 21 year old Edwin Vanegas along with Allan Orellano Perdomo who was not present were read charges of burglary. Earlier on Perdomo had been charged $10,000 for possessing a.38 bullet and was taken to jail as he was unable to pay half the fine.

As for Williams and Vanegas, both pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary. Sentencing on this charge is deferred until tomorrow when Perdomo is brought to court. A further charge of conspiracy to commit burglary was read to Williams, Vanegas and a woman: Blanca Contreras, the housekeeper of the burglarized home. The three pleaded not guilty to this charge.

But the charges do not end there as Blanca Contreras was additionally charged with committing a mischievous act when police say she gave a report knowing the report to be false. All four are to reappear in Magistrate's Court tomorrow for the matter to be dealt with. Police are investigating the stolen weapon to see if it was the one used in a Sunday morning shooting at the corner of Hyde's Lane and Barrack Road.
