Manatee Tags Lost

The Coastal Zone Management and the Wildlife Trust are asking the public in to assist them in locating a couple of manatee tags that have been lost. The tags are made of PVC tubing about 18 inches long and 4 inches wide with reflective tape. The organization reports that two tags have been lost. One was lost the in the area of the Southern Lagoon and the second was lost along the Belize City coastline south of the Port Authority or within the Sibun River or adjacent lagoons.

The tags are used by manatee researchers to track the animal activities and movement patterns. Anyone finding the tags is asked to call the Wildlife Trust at 223:5172 or the CZMAI at 223-2616.
