Today police officers dragged a 72-year-old grandmother into court for drug trafficking. The accused is Lonette Flowers and we are happy to report that the elderly woman is out of police custody and back at her Faber's road home after her grandson Marlon Garnett pleaded guilty to the drug charge and she was released.

Flowers was arrested after police raided her home yesterday and found 390.6 grams of suspected marijuana buried in her backyard. Today in papers presented to court, it turns out that after the search Garnett admitted to the arresting officer that the drugs was for him explaining that he doesn't steal so he sells weed to support his grandmother. And even with what apparent confession, police still hauled the 72 year old to court today where she pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking. Her grandson then requested to plea down to simple possession, which the Magistrate allowed. Garnett who lists his occupation as a plumber was fined $3,000 which he has until October 30th to pay.
