An alleged attempted rapist is tonight facing charges of aggravated burglary and attempted rape.
The man is 26-year-old Stephen Castillo and police say they nabbed him after a 19 year old female claimed that in the wee hours of Sunday morning he broke into her bedroom. The victim says she awoke to find Castillo attempting to tie her to her bed. She escaped but did get cut from a knife he had at her throat. Once outside, she flagged down a passing police mobile which responded and found a naked Castillo cowering in her yard.
He was arrested and was to be arraigned in court today. However a magistrate, seeing numerous scratches and bruises, sent him to the hospital to seek treatment. He is due back in court tomorrow. The victim meanwhile is recovering from those cut wounds.
