A policeman had an encounter with a man that resembles the first Evander Holyfield-Mike Tyson fight.
On Monday November 1st police constable 428 Adriel Caliz made a report. In it he states that at around 10:30 whilst investigating a burglary in Bermudian Landing he stopped a man to search him. Instead of complying with the officer's request, the man identified as Wayne Anthony, attacked the officer. Caliz says that shortly thereafter Anthony called for another man, Lloyd Joseph, for assistance. Joseph came out with a machete and both men began assaulting the officer with Anthony jumping on Caliz's back causing him to fall to the ground. He was further beaten by the two men and for good measure Caliz alleges that Anthony bit off a piece of his right ear.
After a week of hunting for the parties involved police have managed to nab one of the two men in question. Today Lloyd Joseph, 33, was formally arraigned before Magistrate Earl Jones for grievous harm, assaulting a police officer whilst in the execution of his duty and aggravated assault. Joseph was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 and the matter was adjourned until December 14th.
As for the other alleged attacker, police are still looking for him.
