Melvin Salazar Charged for Friend's Murder

Last night 7NEWS first named him as the police's prime suspect in the brutal murder of his friend and today police formally charged 23-year-old Melvin Salazar with murder. Salazar is charged for chopping to death his friend Ermildo Coc known as "Chakiste" early on Thursday morning. Police say the two friends who are from Santa Elena town were drinking in the Barton Creek area near Georgeville when they had an argument. Salazar was arraigned on a charge of murder and no bail was granted.
