Two accused murderers are still on the run tonight. Nationwide manhunts are on for Melvin Salazar accused of butchering his friend with a machete and for Miriam Aguilar-Lopez accused of slaying her ex-common law husband with a butcher knife. Salazar is wanted for last Thursday morning's murder of his friend Ermindo Coc in the Barton creek area near Georgeville in Cayo. Salazar was already arrested but managed to escape from police custody on Saturday afternoon. Police believe he is still in the Santa Elena area.

Miriam Aguilar-Lopez hasn't been seen since she allegedly killed Luis Foreman in a jealous rage last Tuesday night in front of their 11-year-old son in Lord's Bank village. Police tonight told 7NEWS the Honduran fugitive is believed to still be in the country and she has recently been sighted in the King Park's area of Belize City. Police don't consider either murder suspects dangerous since they both committed crimes of passion but if you know the whereabouts of either Melvin Salazar or Miriam Aguilar-Lopez contact the nearest police station or the 922 crime stoppers hotline where a cash reward is offered for information leading to an arrest.
